January 2019 Report
On Sunday 20th January, Lisburn City Swimming Club held its second junior squads time trial of the season. There were 79 swimmers who turned out for this event on a cold morning. Of those, almost 80 swimmers, we had 19 taking part in their first time trial for this season and of that 16 in their first ever. Plus the Bangor SC centenary meet taking place on the same day.
On the morning over 350 swims were recorded in less than 1 hour 30 minutes. A tremendous effort from the coaching team and all the parents who volunteered and helped to run the event so efficiently. Massive thank you to all.
The swimmers demonstrated great improvements in their skills and especially their starts and finishes, resulting in over 260 new times or personal bests from the athletes, a 74% strike rate, for an early year event this is fantastic to see.
Up next for nearly all the junior club swimmers will be the Templemore Minor meet in mid February.
Back to training until then and make those gains every session, every day.
