6 individual finalists today – Ava McN, Toni J, Moya O’K, Jessika R, Nathan W and Andrea C taking part.
The youth girls once again showing their strength in the distance events with 4 girls in the 400m freestyle finals. All of them improved on their pb swims from this morning with Jessika R & Moya O’K coming 6th and 7th respectively in the 12-13 year old age group, and Ava McN & Toni J coming 6th & 7th respectively in the 14 year olds.
Next up was the 50m BC, Nathan W swam faster than his swim this morning to finish 10th in his final.
Andrea C finished the individual final swims for tonight, swimming a pb and coming 5th just missing out on an Irish bronze medal by 1 second!
The last event of day 3 was the highly anticipated boys 4 x 200 freestyle relay. Jack F, Daniel W, Nathan W & Caleb M were chasing the Irish Junior Record of 7.51.16. They swam brilliantly, cheered on by the spectators to finish in a time of 7.52.17 only to face disappointment with a disqualification in their swim. Definitely a record within reach…….next time!
No medals in the final swims this evening for Lisburn, but earlier today the girls 12-14 year old 4 x 200 freestyle relay team (Moya O’K, Jessika R, Toni J, Ava McN) came second in their race! Well done.
Day 3 medals – Lisburn with 1 silver & 1 bronze from individual swims, and a silver from relays.
Only 2 more racing days left. Great meet for Lisburn swimmers with all their training and skills put into practice!
