Day 1 Finals Summer Nationals

Lots of LCSC swimmers back for finals today, 11 swimmers taking part.

First up were the male breastrokers, all 3 (Daniel M, Deaten R & Paul C) improving on their times this morning. Not to be outdone, Ava McN not only improved her 100 breast time from this morning but also won a bronze medal, just missing 2nd place by 2/100th s – well done.

Next up were the freestylers, Daniel W swimming really well against significantly older swimmers in the 200fc and coming 9th . Once again, the girls proved that they are a force to be reckoned with, Moya O’K swimming a pb and winning a silver medal with Jessika R narrowly missing out on a medal in the same race coming 4th for the 200fc.

There were 3 Lisburn swimmers in the over 17 boys 400IM, Daniel W, Nathan W and Caleb M finishing 8th, 9th and 10th respectively, all on the new pbs they set in the morning. In the 14 year old girls 400IM, Toni J improved on her time this morning to finish 7th and a strong end to Lisburn’s first day with Andrea C swimming a pb and winning silver for 400IM (16 years)

So end of Day 1, Lisburn with 1 gold, 2 silvers and 1 bronze!!

Well done to all the swimmers with lots of support from coaches Martin McG, Stan S, Dave S and all the parents. 4 more days of competition!
