Swimmers Step Up V Coleraine

Thirty-three swimmers made the trip to Coleraine for our fourth meet of the season. This was our first time in Coleraine in some years as we welcome them back into Division 1 of the AquaSprint league.

Although missing swimmers due to competing at the Ulster Long Course Championships, our amazing squad showed their depth of ability and talent and every team member stepped up and swam superbly well. A lot of swimmers ended up swimming all 6 events which was great experience for them at this level and so early in their competitive swimming careers.

Massive well done and special mention to Agnes J, Luca S-G and Branagh H who all swam up an age group (or two) and a couple doing their first ever AquaSprint meet.

A great night of fun fast racing with super team spirit from all the swimmers. Great atmosphere for the final race with every Lisburn swimmer remaining behind to support the the final relays, as always it does make a difference having this level of team support and spirit.

The swimmers between them produced over 60 PBs on the night from 96 individual swims which is a great effort and shows the progress being made in our racing arena skills. Still work to be done over the next 5 weeks as we prepared for our final meet at home versus Limavady and the playoff final on Friday 6th June (venue TBC).

Thank you to our brilliant parents who volunteered on the night and helped run a massively smooth efficient gala (50 minutes start to finish). Huge thanks to Coleraine who provided superb competition and hospitality and all done with great spirit.

Final score on the was 202 to 198 in favour of Coleraine, really tight meet and just one event finish order change would of made a difference.

Next up in Limavady on Sunday 19th May.
