AquaSprint v Limavady, – Coaches Report

Thirty-Two swimmers made the long trip to Limavady Roe Valley leisure centre on Saturday 3rd February. They competed in the clubs first outing of the new season of the ForestFeast sponsored AquaSprint Junior Swimming League. Lisburn compete in Division 1 and this is Limavady’s first season in division 1 after being newly promoted from division 2 last season.

Limavady provided stiff competition throughout the gala and it was nip and tuck the whole way to the final relays which decided the meet. Limavady coming away with the victory by 8 points, congratulations to them and best wishes for their remaining fixtures this season.

The Lisburn SC swimmers were a credit to the club, their parents and most of all themselves. Their performances were terrific and a tremendous team spirit was shown throughout the meet, with every swimmer remaining to the end to cheer on the final relays as one team.

Skills and techniques on show where done very well indeed and the progress this group of swimmers has shown throughout this season so far has been nothing short of brilliant. Dives, underwater, break outs and finishes have all improved. Massive congratulations to each swimmer.

We had 80 individual swims on the night and a total of 42 PB’s achieved, great effort in an unfamiliar pool and after a 2 hour bus/car journey is fantastic.

Huge thanks to the parents who made the trip and those who officiated on the evening as always your help in totally invaluable and without your assistance these meets would not take place.

Next up Banbridge at home on Sunday 18th February.
